Thank you for the information.
We request you to run AVG clear followed by remover tool as mentioned here in-order to remove the traces and then try the installation.
If this doesn't help, we can escalate this to senior team and check further.
Hi Support,
I have the same question. I tried to ran the avgclear.exe , but show the error message box: "procedure entry point K32GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll".
My System is Windows 2008 Enterprise. Do you have some solution?
Hello John,
The latest version of AVG will not work on Windows Vista platforms.
However, the old version like 18.1 should work on it and the link available in our downloads website should automatically install this version.
We request you to visit this website: https://www.avg.com/installation-files-prd-gsr-free and download the offline installer of AVG Antivirus free.
Try the installation and see whether it resolves the issue.
If not, provide the screenshot of installation error that you get.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Hello John,
Please click on this link https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x-xp/avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe and check if you are able to complete the installation of AVG.
If the issue persists, please share the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the error message to proceed further.
The same error msg I described before.
Hi,
My AVG free no longer updates. I tried to use the new installer. Then I tried to use the uninstaller. Both executables give the same error message box: "procedure entry point K32GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll".
System is Windows Vista SP2. Windows just did a "bunch" of (security) updates for Vista and IE last night (after all this time).
Can anyone advise?
I just ran AVG_Clear.exe (the first one I tried was avgclear.exe). It did something. I deleted the AVG folder in Program Files and I deleted AVG_Remover folder. When I tried to execute the offline installer for AVG it still gave the same error msg. I'm running AVG_Remover again.
