AVG not activating on Trojans

Wrong. Norton and Kaspersky both activated like how AVG2015. The instant it started to even move onto my computer it was blocked.

Where as AVG 2018 Let it modify system files. Does AVG 2018 only protect against other firewalls? I dont see what it protects against if I can have Trojans on my computer.

Hi, Mark.
Thank you for reaching us here. We'd like to analyze the file that is in question. Please visit https://www.avg.com/en-us/false-positive-file-form to submit a sample. Also let us know which AVG program did you install.

We notice that you have posted another query about installng AVG 2015. Please note that virus definitions for 2016 and older versions have been stopped and we strongly recommend using the latest version.

Please try to keep the whole conversation in one thread to speed up resolution.

Downloaded a known Trojan to test if the "New" AVG2018 was functional and

I have found it does NOT ALARM

at a Trojan being downloaded
at a Trojan being opened/executed(Run/Ran)
at a Trojan changing system files (In this test Trojan I made it alter the common 'hosts' target file)

So I must ask, IS AVG MEANT FOR CELLPHONES OR COMPUTERS???

Mark, since 14th Aug 2018, AVG 2015 and 2018 versions ran on same virus definitions until virus definitions have been stopped for 2015 version. 2016 and older versions of AVG has been discontinued. We'd certainly analyze the file and add it to our virus database.
