Larry, Have a look @ this AVG article (http://avgclick.me/AVGtechnical). Also when filling out your details choose Yes for the Question "Are you currently using any paid/trial AVG products?".

Beginning this week, if AVG gives me the notification that it is starting or finishing a scan, it takes the Windows focus away from what I am doing. If I am typing something in an email or a document, suddenly I get sounds indicating that I should not be typing and the letters I typed did not appear in the document. It just did it while I was typing this.
Your notification must not take the focus! I must be able to continue working while it is on the screen.
