Avg out of date but can't fix

Hi guys,

I've followed all suggestions on this post to "update" the program. Nothing seems to work, and I don't want to pay to call the hotline. Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
thank you very much, the steps you described solved my problem!!!

Hello Martin,

I understand the inconvenience. From the screenshot, I see that the program got corrupted when trying to update the latest version.
I would request you to follow the steps in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to reinstall AVG Internet Security by running AVG Remover and AVG Clear tool.

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
thank you very much, the steps you described solved my problem!!!

Hello everyone AVG is telling me it's out of date but when i try to let AVG fix this it comes up with following message:-

C:Progam Files (x86)\AVG\Anitvirus\wsc_proxy.exe

X  Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I've looked at the permissions on this file as an administrator and the only box that is not ticked is the "special permissions" box.

Please help as i'd like to have AVG up to date. Is it still offering protection in the meantime ?

Kind Regards

Richard

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem and have followed the steps you suggested for Richard, but still get the same message that a newer version 17.6.2310 is available, but that the current program is up to date (version 17.5.3022)!

Any clues?

Soory after doing this the heading is still saying "AVG OUT OF DATE" and "UPDATE NOW" but after trying to do this it says i'm already up to date but Heading stays in place. I have of course tried restarting the computer and running this from menu's and answering any Windows popups in the affirmative so please can you look into this further ?

Help please it's driving me craaaaazy !
