We are very for the difficulties you are currently experiencing. We understand how frustrating it is to have to go through this and I regret the inconvenience that it has caused. Could you please let us know whether you have installed AVG Free in your pc? If you have installed the latest AVG Antivirus 2016 free version in your pc then AVG Zen will be installed in your pc. If you wish to get the basic AVG Free version in your pc then we request you to uninstall all AVG product from your pc using remover tool. To run AVG remover tool for AVG Antivirus please follow the below steps :

Accept the license agreement and then choose AVG Internet Security and remove it.
NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the drive where you installed this tool and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.
Here's an interesting one. I had to completely remove AVG 2015 to install AVG2016. Used the ltest remover tool to do this. Ran the remover tool to do this. Installed 2016 free and selected basic version . Everything went OK and I set up the multiple email settings. It then wanted to run a scan but I deferred for four hours, however during the period the laptop was closed down, During the intial period it asked if I wanted to install on further devices and I selected Android and installed on my phone. (It is still installed.) On firing up the laptop and logging in I got a message the my trial period, that I hadn't undertaken had expired and I needed to buy with no provision to revert to the basic version as there was with both 2014 and 2015 versions.
I removed from my computer again via the remover tool and reinstalled, again selected basic, but it still install the trial version. Tried to replace again and this time I find that however many times I tried it would not remove "Web Tune up" will not remove. However the version on my machine is an earleir version as it shows an install date of 28/08/2015. I even tried to remove via "Add remove programs" but with no sucess.
Now when I check my AVG account and I see I have a subscription for pro that expires in 30 days. Maybe this is the reason now why I cannot install basic, but does not explain why it installed pro trial initially or that it then shot up several hours later I need to buy and blocking access to everything else. I have installed AVG on many machines for others and myself over the years and never came across this issue before.
