Due to this you are getting such message in the AVG Password Protection application.
I request you to uninstall the AVG Password Protection application and proceed with the AVG Internet Security.

I have a current AVG Ultimate subscription, but today when starting Password Protection, the GUI informs me that my subscription has been cancelled. Is Password Protection not part of the bundle? Do I need to reactivate this, or just ignore it?

John, AVG Password protection application is not stand alone and you need to uninstall AVG Internet Security to remove it. I'd request you to uninstall AVG Internet Security and install it again.
