This advise is incorrect from AVG Support.
Historically, I too had the issue with Password protection turning itself OFF, requiring my manual intervention to re-activate it. It was very frustrating indeed.
A month or two ago, AVG Tech Support remotely fixed the problem.
They also specified that the Development Team were working on it and that a "fix" would be available within the next version.
The solution provided to some to delete and re-install the Product is complete rubbish.
If you all care to review the history of this issue, it has been around for ages.
I suggest that, as no updated is forthcoming, have AVG Technical Support remorely fix this Password protection issue.
