If it is not the latest version (20.10), please update it to the latest version, restart your computer once & check for the issue.

HI,ILike at least one other user, every time I turn on my computer I have to manually turn on the Password protection. is there something I can do to have it permanently turned on so I don't have to worry if I forget to do so?

The version I have installed is 20.10.3157 (build 20.10.5824.625)

We'd like to inform that this password protection component disable issue has been identified as a bug and our developers are working on a fix.

Until then, we'd request to uninstall AVG using clear tool (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Uninstall-AVG-software-Clear-Remover) and install it again.
