Thanks for the information, I have been able to both delete the old version of PC Tune Up (2014!) and install the latest. However, there is still the question of the remaining credit on the account - how can I get the remaining monies on my account applied to the newly downloaded software?
Hello Christopher.
We regret for any inconvenience caused. Could you let us know the version of Windows OS that you are using?
Thank you.
We'd request to uninstall AVG PC TuneUp from control panel. Then run AVG Remover tool (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe) to remove traces of older version.
Then, try to install latest version of AVG TuneUp.
I have been using AVG PC Tune Up 2014, with a subscription, for a number of years and have satisfied with the results. Suddenly, last week, clicking on AVG PC Tune Up 2014 on my Windows 10 task bar results in an error message,
C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG PC TuneUp\MainControls.bpl
is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an
error. Try installing the program again using the original
installation media or contact you system administrator or the
software vendor support. Error status 0xc0000020.
Attempting "Change" or "Repair" in control panel does nothing.
I am concerned that deleting this will do just that, delete it with no follow-on program. Needless to say, I have been paying for this and don't to have two subscriptions running.
