Avg pc tune up: drive repair stuck at 10%

I used avg pc tune up, used the drive doctor, and chose the 'thorough' option for my scan. On completion of the scan I was told that I would need to restart my computer for changes to take effect. I restarted my computer, and now it has been stuck with the message 'scanning and repairing drive (C:): 10% complete' for at least two hours. My PC was healthy until this point, and now I'm too scared to try and do anything with it
