I just got the exact same problem. I can confirm it did actually uninstall the Skype application and it's nowhere to be found on my hard drive. I was in the middle of a call when it happened. Why?

Thank you for your immediate response. I myself cannot understand and am surprised why AVG PC Tune up when it asked for updated version, totally deleted my old version of my Skype, even after the old version is updated, but could not even find the updated Skype version on my PC.
So far I have not down loaded the Skype from Google as I am waiting for an answer to my issue. Since I have received your reply, and n oder to be authentic, from which Google site should I download it. Is it possible to send the link so that I can load it. But where is the updated version installed by AVG PC Tune up, which is not in the system? Is it a fake update

URGENT PLEASE
I am very much upset with AVG PC Tune up installation. I realise that I made a big mistake in buying this application. I am having a very serious issue on this App. My issue is as under:
In my SONY laptop( WIN 10 Ver), I am already having SKYPE application and it was working very well. However, yesterday when I clicked the AVG PC Tune up, it was indicating that Skype version is out dated and asked me to update to the latest version. I clicked OK . After installation, I noticed that the entire Skype application got deleted both from the main Screen as well as from the Control Panel Programs & features. I really do not know why the "AVG PC Tune up" has totally deleted my originally existing Skype in which I had all contacts & credit.
Why the AVG PC Tune up deleted the existing Skype , is not understood and is so annoying to see this. Now I do not know how to retrieve the originally existed skype in my laptop…
Also I do not know where this updated skype through AVG PC Tune UP, has gone, as it is neither noticeable on the main screen or even in the installed programs
Can you look into this and resolve my issue. With this annoying problem with AVG PC Tune Up, can I uninstall the AVG PC Tune up from my programs, as it is creating problems while installing new updates

As advised, I typed Skype Download from Google , and I got this : Download Skype for mobile & desktop | Skype
It shows just above this site as Microsoft. Is it OK for me to download. Is it a free download. I could find a direct site as download from Skype except through Microsoft.

Proceed to download and install Skype.

I understand the inconvenience and it was unfortunate to happen.
I assure you that, program update feature of AVG PC TuneUp will only update the latest version available and it is not possible for it to delete the old version.
It is not advisable to uninstall AVG PC TuneUp now.
Have you tried installing Skype application again?
The link that you have provided appears as Skype page.
If it shows Skype homepage and has a download option, proceed with the download and it is free for download.
