AVG PC TuneUp 2015

When the request to update AVG PC Tune Up appears trying to do so results in an error message: "Make sure that a connection to the Internet is established and that communication from AVG Update wizard is not blocked -e.g. by a firewall. Click OK to check your internet connections."
Thereafter there is a Select your Internet connection dialog box with Special connection types of Permanent connection to the internet and Connect manually. However there does not seem to be an answer that allows the update wizard to proceed. I've got a permanent internet connection anyway.
Any ideas? The online help is useless - it doesn't work.
