AVG PC TuneUp and AVG Zen have both stopped working on my PC

AVG PC Tuneup and AVG Zen have both ceased to function on my PC (but AVG free still works).
If I click on either program and use 'run as administrator' nothing happens. I have tried re-downloading several times but no change.  Can I completely remove all AVG software somehow and start again or what would you suggest. Should I delete AVG free which has been on my PC for ages?
All three programs appear to use a common target,   \Framework\Common\avguix.exe" /zen.open_ui
