As I said, I have completely lost faith in AVG and will not be going to any further AVG pages.
I will be giving my broken PC to my technical department tomorrow to see if it can be rescued.
I am now demanding AVG should provide compensation for your short sighted program and totally absurd incorrect advice. I am very dissapointed now in AVG and as stated, I have copied the correspondence with your technician and now this which I intend to demonstrate through contemporaneous records the exact actions that have occurred. It will make interesting reading for your other customers.

OK,
So far I have in writing from AVG that hackers cannot get into my PC. Guess what, I've been hacked!With the recent update I can no longer get into AutoCAD 2018 and several other programs.
I have been using computers most of my life and today, my computer is now a complete mess that's to AVG.
Even there web pages lead you to a bogus company that want to fix my PC for $180, $249, $1000 for three off with a $25 yearly subscription.
So far, what I saw on the pirated site was very professional and I could see exactly how my PC had been hacked.
Obviously, AVG think they have a get out of Jail free card, but unfortunately, the conversation on line I had with their expert will bring them completely undone mainly due to false misrepresentation for what they say their package can do.
So in summary:

  • AVG DOES NOT STOP HACKERS
  • THE PROGRAM IS WAY BEHIND IN IDENTIFYING MALWARE
  • IN FACT THE PROGRAM CAUSES MALWARE AND SPYWARE
I have been with AVG since the beginning and have always recommended this software to my customers but no more. I think I'll sign up with these bogus company's. So far, what I have seen them perform on my other PC's has been excellent. I've even tried to load spam, virus's, trojins, spyware etc. Every time I managed to get my computer infected they very quickly cleaned it up. At least they address the problem proactively instead of re-actively. I'll let you decide what other package you would want but do suggest you deliberately allow yourself to get swept into the bogus sites. At least they know what they are doing. As for AVG, I will be saying Aloha!!!
