AVG Pro detects virus, but I cant remove it? What do I do?

As stated in many places on the web: “make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate installed.” After I installed Microsoft AutoUpdate 4.28.20101102, AVG was able to resolve the PUP-gen [PUP] threat for Microsoft_AutoUpdate_4.19.20011301_Updater.pkg.

I re-ran AVG Deep Scan and no PUP-gen [PUP] threats were reported. I suspect the install of the latest version of Microsoft AutoUpdate 4.28.20101102 uninstalled the old installation package, removed it or otherwise permitted AVG to resolve it.

Thanks

Hi, I have the paid version of AVG.

I did a deep scan and AVG found a virus, but it cant remove it.
Whenever I press "Retry" i put in my password and nothing happens.
Files:

Microsoft_AutoUpdate_4.21.20030802_Updater.pkg

What can I do?

Glad to know that. The latest file of Microsoft Auto Update might have override the previous file. Thank you for updating the status. Have a great day. Stay safe!

I use the free version of AVG on a Macbook Pro (running macOS Mojave). I have the same issue as Mr. Rasmussen: Microsoft_AutoUpdate_4.19.20011301_Updater.pkg is reported but will not resolve. Thanks
