I've been helping a friend with similar problems to Mike Mendis - she must have accidentally clicked on a pop up for the Pro trial. Her problem was a pop up which completely obscured the AVG dashboard making it impossible to use. I couldn't find a way to close or move this pop up. In desperation I uninstalled AVG, Zen and Tune up using the MS Windows 8 uninstall. Rebooted and installed Avast! (sorry). Avast still thinks AVG is present although I can't see it at all. Do I need to do anything, what can I do?
Hello Liz,
We are sorry to know that you had uninstalled AVG. To make sure if you have completely removed AVG and its traces, we suggest you to use 'AVG Remover Tool' ( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually uninstall/delete any remaining AVG applications from 'Control panel' and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. Thank you.
