Hi there. I'm having the same problem. AVG deleted something from a Steam game and now I can't run the game. I can't access the vault as the popup telling me to upgrade stops me from accessing it. I tried selecting uninstall in control panel but it tells me I cannot uninstall AVG Zen. WHen I try the same for AVG protection I do not get an option to 'switch to the free version'. Any help would be appreciated.

I have AVG pro trial version that has expired.  There is an important file that was deleted from my USB and I can't figure out how to retrieve it.  I can't get into the vault because I am continually getting the popup message that I need to sign up for a year long subscription and it blocks access.  Does anyone know of a way of getting to the vault without paying the subscription?  I just want to use AVG free version.

We are sorry to hear about that. You seem to have completely uninstalled AVG where the settings and files in the virus vault will be removed. Thank you.

But I'm afraid if I delete the trial I will lose the Vault that contains my important file.  Will the vault remain intact even though I delete the trial version?

Hello Gerry,
We really appreciate your valuable efforts which you taken to fix it.  As we said earlier once you have been uninstalled AVG completely from your system, the files which present  in Virus vault  cannot be retrieved.  We would request you  to remove previously installed program traces of (AVG 2015 or AVG 2014)from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Internet Security.
Note: If you have installed any other conflicting programs like AVAST, NORTON, McAfee or KASPERSKY  try to uninstall it.
Once you have uninstalled from your system,try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
Remover and Download:
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link:  http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reinstall-AVG
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.

Please be informed that it is just an operation of switching to AVG AntiVirus Free and the files present in the virus vault will not be affected during the operation.
