Hi Balasubramanian,
In answer to both questions, I am using the Free version of AVG antivirus. AVG Tuneup is not installed.
Hello John,
Thank you for your patience. As per request from our devolpers we would request you to initiate File checkers scan using the command " sfc /scannow". Please open your command prompt with admins rights and input this previously mentioned command which mentioned in double quotes. Try to check whether your AVG Free version is installed with latest varsion and try to update if its required.
If the issue persist please let us know, we are here to help you.
Thank you.
Hi,
Recently on several occasions, the netbook with Win7 OS has been unable to enter into sleep/standby mode when lid is closed. In fact it never powers off! The only way to power off is to use full shutdown. A little investigatory work using powercfg -requests from command line has revealed that file avgsetupx.exe is preventing shutdown. Trying to kill the process Windows Task Manager is prohibited. Thinking this file may be corrupted or malware, the entire AVG protection was uninstalled and a fresh copy installed. Unfortunately this did not fix problem. This system has been swept several times for malware and other viruses.
The file(s) causing this issue are located in:
C:\windows\Temp\AvgSetup\xxxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx\install\avgsetup.exe
There are at least four such entries under different numbered folders.
Any ideas? Thanks
