I have the same issue. It's very frustrating. Here is what the event log says:

Even when I disable the security, it still happens. It happens not only in game but whenever i use my computer. It happens every 5 minutes or so.
I tried to shutdown the program though task manager, but the access is denied. Now, I'd want to uninstall, but last time I did that, the AVG uninstaller did such a poor job, it corrupted my windows, I lost everything and I had to reinstall windows.
Hello, Merritt
We will certainly help you in this.
Since it works fine when you disable the AVG, we need to find the root cause of this issue.
Could you share the screenshot of error message?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
When playing Dark Souls 3 (I've not noticed it in other games). I periodically get three short freezes, back-to-back, lasting a little under a second each. I finally tracked this down in Event Viewer to a process being run by AVG.
Process C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus\AVGSvc.exe (process ID:2824) reset policy scheme from {longstring} to {matchinglongstring}
(I deleted the actual values, long hex string).

So, in order to fix it, I turn off AVG while playing. I'm just wondering if there is a way to get AVG to quit checking my power scheme or whatever exactly it's doing here, so I don't have to turn it off to play games.
