Hello Jay,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
We understand how something like this can really try your patience.
Mostly this error is due to the previously installed AVG program or anyother Antivirus program installed on your system.
Is there any other Antivirus program or AVG program installed on your system?
Thank you.
Hello. I awoke this morning with the same problem. My AVG Antivirus Free stopped working. When I try to update, I get this error: Error occur when saving the connection. Connection is off-line.
Clicking on the link to go online to fix problem leads to non-working website.
I also have TuneUp Utilities and Malwarebytes Anti Malware on my computer. I'm using Windows 8.1.
Is the connection error on my end or yours? Please help!

AVG Forum,
I use three AVG products, but yesterday (Wednesday 15/6/2016) AVG Internet Security just stopped. I tried repairing the installation. Failure dialogue box. I tried reinstalling, Failure dialogue box. I tried uninstalling, failure dialogue box, error code 0xC00700D8. After reading the AVG support pages found I needed to reset access, then use removal tool, then install fresh. The first two steps seemed to be successful, but the installation still failed, error code 0xC0070643.
I am running Windows 7 Pro (64bit) on a desktop machine. No other virus scanning programmes. AVG was working quite well until yesterday (at least 6 months on this subscription). I have tried several times through the AVG support page "Tech Support" form but the form will not submit, frustrating. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

I had 3 AVG products installed, Internet security, PC Tune-up and Driver Updater installed. NO other antivirus or protection software. I have uninstalled all three products, as well as going through and finding any missed directories/files associated with AVG (but I did not look into the registry)… I then shutdown and restarted the computer. The install of the AVG Internet security went through OK. So I think all good at the moment. (fingers crossed)
Thanks,
Jay
