For some reason, I still haven't gotten the download to get AVG Protection 2017. I still have about 125 days left on my current license, and DO NOT want to spent money just to get the program from another vendor and lose that time.
I have spoken with the so called tech support as to why I can't get the latest version, or whatever it is, and all they wanted to do is "suggest" that I spend $225.00 to let them install Ultimate and then another $90.00 a month for matainance. NO WAY!!! They also stated that I should, as a suggestion, uninstall any other utilities I have and then it will update. I even went so far as to uninstall my current version and then run their download/install program which only gave me the same version I had before. I find it hard to believe that I see the 2017 version for purchase and I can't get the program to update with my VALID license that I was told would be available after the 10th of January!
Can anyone tell me what is going on? The current version I have is 16.141.7996.
On the other hand, the licensed products can be installed on limited no.of computers (max 10 computers) and they need a license number to activate and installation. Your current AVG Anti Virus (3 computers) product comes under this category.
We would like to inform you that the 2017 version is not yet available for the licensed products category and it is only available for Multidevice programs of AVG. You can upgrade your AVG Anti Virus to AVG Internet Security in which firewall component is included at any time. The remaining period in your current license will add on to the new subscriptions.

Thank you for getting back to us. We would like to inform you that there are 2 categories of AVG programs available now. One is Multidevice package and the other is a licensed package. There is not difference in the feature of the program and protection level but only in their design and installation.
With the Multidevice package comes Zen app. These products can be installed any no.of devices with single subscription. They do not need a license number to activate and they are activated using AVG MyAccount email address and password. With AVG Zen, you can create a free Zen Network that allows you to remotely view the status of AVG apps installed on any of your connected computers and Android™ phones and tablets. You can also add more devices to your Zen Network, install AVG apps on your other computers, phones and tablets, and even invite your family members to join your network.
