Good morning all who helped.
As far as I can see my problems have been cured completely now. I rebooted the system several times now and I did not get the "Vprot.exe"-message again. So I guess my observation that the message was still there was not that accurate. Anyway I cannot reproduce the problem. So we can close this file.
Thanks for your help.

I did reboot my system this afternoon, I left is untouched without using it. When I wanted to use ithe system after a few hours, the failuremessage was there again. So the remote customerservice obviously did not cure the problem so far.

Good morning Viveksaravanan,

I did carry out the procedure you described to me. It cured at least an imortant part of my problem. The AVG internet security dashboard indicates now that my computer is protected. And it does not drop out anymore. I see that as serious progress.
However after rebooting the system I still get the message from AVG diagnostics twice telling an identical message: "Following AVG Processes failure: Vprot.exe proces failed". I don't know wether this is harmless or not but it is at least unusual. So maybe you have got an other excelent suggestion?

Yours Harry

Hello Abirami,
Thisone also did not cure my problem. All thirdparty virusprotection programs (Hitman, Adaware and Malware) have been removed. And after a reboot AVG keeps telling met that computerprotection is swithed off. I al litte message window i get the message "Vprot.exe proces failed" on the screen.
What can we do?

Harry

I have been running AVG Ultimate for nearly one year without any serious problem..
Now (since the last update?) i get a message that my computer is not protected, while WEB and E-Mail, HACKERACTIVITIES, PROTECTION OF PRIVATE DATA, ande PROTECTIOON OF PAYMENTS are indicated to be working normal.
On top of the AVG Internet security screen I get a message telling:""Protection is switched off". Rebooting your system will switch protection ON again. There is also a button on that screen "Repair".
None of them repairs the problem, neither the repairbutton nor rebooting the system.
Whats next?
  1. !! Please do not start exe files (avgfmwremoverx.exe, avgremoverx.exe, pctremoverx.exe)! Restart PC immediately after removal process, because after restart is planned removal process which remove services, registry keys and files which are locked!
    17. Once the PC is restarted in normal mode, please click this link http://avgread.me/19OHofR to show steps to download and install AVG Ultimate.
If the issue persist please let us know, we are here to help you. (3/3)
    Thank you.

Hi Gents,

There we go again.
Unfortunately I reacted a bit too early with my last message.
I have got the AVG-Message again. So I am happy to be able to send a screenshot to you showing the problem.

Hello Pandi,
Thanks for your reaction,
Unfortunately I did not get into the state that your fix cured the problem.
After executing the steps you described I did a reboot. Initially AVG seemed te work ok. Than I entered Firefox. At that time AVG gave the message "Vprot.exe proces failed" And AVG kicked out again. I am not absolutely shure that there was a relation between entering Firefox and AVG jumping out. There is a possibility that they where not related. But because these eventes happened together I mention them to you.
So I am in the same situation as where we started:
Have you got anymore suggestions of things I could do?

Yours
Harry
