We're glad to look into this & help you.
From your description, it seems that traces of older version are available on your computer. In this regard, you can try running AVG Remover to check if it helps.

I am not able to remove the "  AVG_Protection  " File(s)  from my laptop-  I used the AVG clear does not work. I need an assistant from any of Gurus.  Since the customer service has gone to WhiteCastle
