Avg protection keeps turning on and off

Hello Pedro,
We regret for the inconvenience. It seems that you are facing issue with inactive components. It is mandatory to turn on Software analyzer because this is the main component which analyze all the software installed in your computer and search for threats in your computer. To fix the issue, Download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.

Open tool
User Account control - click "Yes"
Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compability)
Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
Click "Uninstall"
Click "Restart computer"

Once you restart , please click the link  http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Ultimate_1827.exe to install AVG Ultimate

Thank you.

The Avg Computer Protection And Internet Security keeps turning on and off. As soon as I turn it back on it turns off. Don't know if it has to do with settings or what. ci click on over Computer Protection/ says We strongly recommend turning on your Software Analyzer…what is that?

I think the problem seems to be with The AVG "Software Analyzer". It does not give an ignore feature to something it thinks is a fault when it is not. eg your software analyzer wants to upgrase my firefox (and other programs) to latest version which is not compatable with my xp system so the fault stays and turns the av off

Hello, Chris.
The software analyzer feature is changed as 'Behavior Shield' in the latest version of AVG and you can add exceptions. Please open AVG, click on Menu > Settings > Components > Behavior shield. Click on 'Customize' and 'Exceptions'.

Did not work, used the avg clear tool, reinstalled avg still did not work.
