Avg protection license not recognised

We regret for the inconvenience caused. We would request you to run AVG remover tool to completely remove AVG and then re install it.  
Please click this link http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
1. Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
2. After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your computer.
3. After the restart,  manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of My computer.

We have all of our PC's protected with AVG Zen. I checked the  expiration and it's 214 days from now. Tonight my husband boots his laptop, Windows 7, and shows me an error he is getting, that his license is not recognized. Zen says his AVG Protection is up to date, by the way, but every time we open it, we get popup windows stating that the license is not recognized and to re-enter it. Of course with Zen there is no license number. I have already rebooted his laptop, which had no effect. I disconnected his laptop from the network and reconnected it, with no change. I also refreshed Zen, with no change. I logged out of and back into the Zen administrator  from his laptop, and there is also no change. I am at a loss and really don't want to have to reinstall everything, since it will tie me up for a good amount of time, as well as tie his laptop up for that same amount of time. Please advise what the problem is and how to resolve it.
I already tried completing the form at https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=en_US, but even though I completed all portions of the form, the Continue button will no respond, as if I had left a field blank, which I did not. I completed the page from start to finish three times and had the same reaction each time. I also saw a link to paid support over the phone, but honestly we should not have to pay for a solution to a problem that seems to have started after the latest antivirus update.

I am online now with Arun, who is remoted in. He's been working on removal and reinstall. Apparently the contact form no longer works in Chrome. I had later tried it in Edge and was able to get assistance. I can't believe that the from doesn't work in Chrome.version  52.0.2743.116 m
I also can't understand what went so wrong with the exiting installation.

    5. Run the downloaded file to start the installation process.
    6. Follow the instructions on your screen.  
    7. Complete the installation and restart your computer.
