Well to be quite honest I am really fed up with AVG !
I have/had avg on 2 machines:
My desk top running Windows 7 HP 2009 SP 1 64 Bit. With this machine I constantly get asked to do a Computer Restart even when I do this as soon I switch my machine off and then switch it back on again the messages appears again and again !!!
The next thing is I am always getting red messages saying unable to update system virus definitions.
My laptop Windows Vista HP 2007 SP2 32 Bit. Well this is an ongoing saga. Before the arrival of AVG 2017 everyting was fine, now nothing works properly we have had many attempts to load AVG but it always fails. There was even a suggestion to take over my machine but could only go so far !
There is no doubt in my mind that the introduction of AVG 2017 was not one of your best ideas !
very disatisfied customer.

Clive, since you are still running windows vista i would suggest that first make sure you have the last update from microsoft. It is in the following link. Make sure you choose the correct one to download whether your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit.
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/search.aspx?q=3217877
Once you have your vista completey updated, you can uninstall your avg internet security again before trying to reinstall it. First go into advanced settings and disable both avg protection modes. Then gom into control panel add/remove programs. Uninstall avg protection first if it is there, then unistall any other avg there. Then put computer in safe mode and run avg remover tool. Once done, restart computer and go back to add/remove programs and uninstall anything avg. You can then try reinstalling your avg.
