This AVG watchdog is a known issue and our developers are almost in final stage to find the fix.
By following basic troubleshooting method we can fix the issue.
We request you to unplug all the external devices that are connected to your CPU via USB ports.
Please restart your PC and press Esc or F8 keys repeatedly and check whether you get the "BOOT" screen.
If it doesn't resolves the issue we would request you to use the AVG Rescue Cd using the instructions on the article http://avgread.me/1Md2imU and check whether you could login into your PC.

Thank you. Unfortunately I had to use the rescue option and uninstall avg. Please let us know when this fix is available so we can reinstall it.
Since the latest Windows 10 upgrade AVG protection hangs on reboot. Windows 10 is automatically applying upgrades and rebooting. I can't turn this off. I've set up working hours so it does this now on Friday nights. Upon reboot the system hangs initializing AVG. I don't even get to a login screen. It hangs after the Phase 1 complete message. I know it's hung because it will sit there on that message for 3 days over the weekend. Taking the machine off of the network and booting in safe mode do nto work. I did update AVG protection. Any ideas? If this can't be fixed we'll have to remove AVG. This is a church. The priest needs their computer on Sunday.
