We do understand your concern. You can change the frequency of this pop-ups from by following the steps in this linkhttp://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-Change-the-Frequency-of-Pop-Up-Notifications. As this is a free version, we do not have an option to disable this pop-up. However, you can reduce the frequency of this pop-up from the above option.

Neither. I have AVG Free and I am harrassed by invitations to fix performance. How can I stop this nonsense?
I can only provide a screen shot when it happens so you may have to wait for a further post to see that. However on the screen that appears when you access AVG Anti-virus Free why is there a Fix performance button?

Is there a recognised way to stop regular prompts to run PC Tune Up? Like many others I do not believe any registry cleaner or optimiser is desirable software.
My complaint is not about System Tray notifications. If it was only the items listed then there would be no problem.
How do you disable App offers? Why do I have to receive these offers every 3 days?

Thank you for getting back to us. We have included Fix performance in AVG Anti Virus free so that our customers can try and check how the AVG PC Tuneup maintenance scan will work. It is a one time fix feature. You could disable system tray notifications as described below.
Open AVG.
Click on Options and Advanced settings.
In the left pane, click on Appearance and you can select which component's notification you would want to disable.
