There is already an old closed thread on the subject, funnily it was the first option on a google search. Thread was closed with comments from 2013/4 and we are now 2016 with the same problem, although there would have been many upgrades since then but not necessarily this component. In this case while I am been researching this, August 6th 2016 AM, it has now completed and I have been unable to get the timings. This does sound like a common problem that has not yet been resolved and I would suggest it is returned to the developers. If you wish I will run it again, as at this time I will not correct the errors and you can request the data and dumps you require. In any event I will run it again and correct the errors on August 13th 2016 if I don't hear from you before then.
Steve, Just for your info any topics on the 'AVG Support Community' aren't closed. The thread that you actually refer to was on the old now 'read only' forum.

Ok I said closed, meaning I couldn't add a comment to it, the same result as read only, since it was closed to new comments.
There was no redirection to a new thread in an updatable forum and there was no clear answer to my question as easily found as the one I refered to.
However there is now a redirection in this thread for me to review and then I can decide where to go to next. Having had a major failure on my laptop I had to revert to a backup and update my AVG free, as a result, which included tune up and this was the first time I have run it since my restore.
I may add another comment after my review, I took screenprints of the logs that were returned, it is a pity that there is no option to save or print those logs before proceeding to the next step, it would have cut my 12 screen prints to 3 logs instead and made this reporting easier.

Do you mean that you couldn't install AVG PC TuneUp and AVG free antivirus on your laptop?
If yes, please provide the exact error code that you received for the installation so that we can assist you better.
