AVG refuses to be deleted. Any suggestions?

Hello, I have AVG on my phone and when I got my new computer, I thought it would be nice to have it on this platform as well. It was not soon after I installed AVG that my files and Windows search bar (Windows 10) started to crash or just not work. I've tried the AVG remover but the AVG files are still there and I can still scan files and apps, even after the cleaner asked for a restart (twice). I just want to remove any trace of AVG off my computer. It is idiotic that a company that is supposed to protect you from viruses acts so much like one itself. Is there an updated version of the remover or did this "protection software" just ruin my hard drive?
