I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Do you mean you downloaded and run AVG Remover tool which does not detect any AVG apps installed? Do you have AVG 2017 version still installed on your PC? If you do, please run AVG Clear and AVG Remover tools as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product .
Then re install AVG Antivirus free 2017 as per the instructions in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free
Hello Avinash, thanks for your reply, but I am answering to you with the same note I sent to Alan Binch, I have tried to run AVG Clear exe, but yersterday it ran for 5 hours and kept on going. I don't want to seem rude, but the screenshot of AVG failure I have saved it ona Word file. Can AVG (againsta) payment assist me like it di last year in solving the problem via web live connection? I am in dire need to use the PC but cannot surf withouht protection Thanks for any help
Hello community, I have a problem with AVG free edition. At least once a year avg presents with a problem. The avg window showed that I had to choose between the active and passive mode. I chose active mode and it told me to remove avg 2015 free edition??? ( idon't ahve a 2015 free edition but 2017) Nothing doing so I proceeded in trying to remove totally avg but no dice. Now I need help in totally removign avg and then proceed in intsalling a new free edition. Can anyone please tell me what to do??? I need the antivirus whihc no longer is on the pc but I canot reinstall a new one…I need a total remover of avg I tried the one on the avg web site bu it tells me that there aren't any avg files on the PC. Of course trying to raise AVG on the phone is practcally impossible…

Michael, AVG have sent you an email instruction to get connected with their technical support team. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them and you should be able to resolve your issue. Mention this case number 05381897 to the remote technician you get connected to so they can see the conversation and proceed with helping you.
