AVG repeatedly asked for restart after an update

I do not have an administrative password on my computer.  I read the instructions but they are not clear to me.  What is the basic problem with AVG - I never had problems like this before.  Why now?

Hi
Thanks for the quick response.  I actually already tried the suggestion in the first link listed in your answer.  After I did that I was not asked for a restart but not all of the updates completed.  The application states that I am fully protected but only the email protection shows that it was updated.  I ran a scan and it seemed to a full scan while I watching the files listed but the application still shows that only one feature was updated.  I am totally confused.  Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joann

I just installed an update to my AVG - it stated that I needed to restart my computer.  I did but when my PC came back up it again asked for a restart - this happened four times.  Then I followed the instructions to delete temporary update files.  When I did this and restarted, the restart message no longer appeared but now I do not have the complete protection I had before I installed the update.  I can look into my AVG program and it shows two updates for today and one for yesterday.  The two from today are the problem.  There is an option to delete the updates or there is an option to go to the update from yesterday and use that as a restore point for AVG.  I am not sure what option would be the best for this problem.  Would appreciate any help on this.  Joann

Not sure I understand what you are suggesting…can you give some specifics?  Thanks.  Joann

I followed the repair instructions again and nothing that is displaying has changed.  My issue is this:  Although the display or the main page or whatever one might want to call it says that 'You are fully protected' and 'Protection is up to date' the different boxes show that Web Protected but Computer Not Installed Identity Not Installed Email Not Installed Firewall Update to Active.  When I run a scan it seems to take the same amount of time to complete as usual but the messages on the screen before I run it are bothering me.  Why am I getting them?  When I try to install them they do not run.
???  Thanks.

Hi again - I followed the instructions in the first link but I did not find the option Complete at next computer restart.  And the email is not the feature that shows protected - only web shows that there is protection.  Is my only option a reinstall?
