You can use any other Live CD (http://www.livecdlist.com) to rename AVG files.

trying to resolve the avgidsha.sys preventing windows 7 from booting.  Downloaded the rescue CD via USB and booted, but it hangs on "Mounting Windows partitions…"     What am I doing wrong?
