AVG Rescue CD - Update failed: A bin file is missing

My firewall had disabled internet on the affected computers. I rebooted my computer into AVG Rescue CD and ran the Online update.

It downloaded three files: avg13infoavi.ctf, u13iavi9346lq.bin, and lx13core4253zq.bin. Then it failed with the message: "Update failed: General error." This was running under Priority 2. I tried the update again, it downloaded the same files again, and then failed again with the same error message.

I tried running the Online update under Priority 3 and 4. Both of those gave me the error message "The connection with avgd daemon was lost" and wouldn't download any files. I tried going into Network > Interface, and using DHCP, but after successfully testing the network port, the updates still failed with the same message.

I had previously downloaded u15iavi9346lq.bin – I can't find any documentation that says any different version's file is required, and nothing about the additional files.

I just did a "Show Updates" and it returned these results:

I downloaded a fresh version of the AVG Rescue CD today, and then downloaded the Iavi: 9346 file to update it offline; I saved the file in an 'updates' directory on the same USB stick.

When I try to do the Offline Update in the menu, it fails with the error message "Update failed: A bin file is missing." I tried formatting my USB stick to FAT and FAT32 – in both cases, the system sees the USB stick, but the offline update fails.

I'm having the same issue. Found out that the rescue CD uses Version 2015 updates instead of 2016, but even after downloading the 2015 files, it gives me the same error. Is there any other way to resolve this, because in some cases I need to offline file and cannot update via the Internet directly.

What is specification of your PC do you have at least 1GB RAM?
