AVG Rescue CD (USB)

Hello Scott,
We are sorry to know that this USB is not getting detected. Please check in your computer if the USB device is being detected, if it is not getting detected, please try from different USB port and then check if you are able to detect the USB device.
Thank you

When trying to make a Bootable Rescue CD (USB) after extracting the files and clicking on "setup" I immediately get a dialogue box "Select Removable Device:" then in the drop down below it says, "No device found" and gives me no options to find my USB which is plugged in. How do I progress beyond this to make my bootable Rescue USB?

I have deleted and downloaded this zip file 3 times with the same results.
I use Windows 10 (clean install recently)

Reason: I have another computer (Win 7) which is having frequent and almost constant 100% CPU usage and want to see if using AVG bootable can find any virus.

Thank you for any help!

Hi all,

I am using the same file and facing the same issues. My USB is recognised on my computer and the computers of other people. Though for some reason the AVG Setup does not find the device when I click set-up. I have tried doing the same process on other computers and it is the same result. I have followed the AVG guide as well as a YouTube tutorial.

It seems a very simple process, but unfortunately my device is just not being recognised. It is a Toshiba 500GB External Hard Drive. I have also tried WD Elements 500gb external hard drive.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hello Alec,

I appreciate your patience. We recommend downloading ISO for CD creation and then usage of 3rd party tool such as Rufus to create bootable external drive.
Thank you.
