Hello Chris. I would like to let you know that the issue is because of the low Ram less than 1024 MB. Thank you.
Hi
I've just created an AVG rescue disc CD to try to stamp out an Jenxcus infection on several PCs. However when I tried the CD on an old HP Pavilion it booted up OK, then after a while said :
Kernel panic - not syncing : VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0)CPU 0 PID 1 Comm: swapper/0 not tainted 3.13.5.ARL-140716#1
It went a little further and now is stopped dead saying ?rest_init+0x70/0x70
It sat there for over half an hour.
I couldnt even power down so eventually I took the battery out of the laptop to stop it. But now it won;t reboot into windows (XP). It just goes a little way into the startup sequence and then returns to the bootup screen.
HELP I seem to have killed this computer completely and I don;t dare try the rescue CD in any other computer.
I am in a very remote part of Africa trying to help out a Bible college and the internet connection is atrrocious - it took a whole day to download the rescue disc - so I can't download anything bigger.
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks
Chris
