WIN Vista 32bit. Have avg Rescue on usb drive. When it tries to boot, it gives the message "Warning, "no configuration file" and the screen shows the "Boot" prompt
Periodically, I run AVG Rescue on my primary computer(WIN-10) … just as a routine. On my primary computer, AVG Rescue runs fine because it's network is a LAN (hooked to router with cat5) and I can download virus definitions without problems. On my Vista computer, I have never been able to run AVG Rescue because it is hooked to the internet via wireless network. When I run AVG Rescue, I am unable to download virus definitions because my wireless network doesn't work. I've been trying to work with downloading the virus definitions and have them on the Vista computer. This hasn't worked because I have been using a CD. Today, I thought I'd try using a USB flashdrive. I downloaded the ZIP file and installed it on the flashdrive and also copied the virus definitions to the flashdrive as well. I thought everything would be OK but the computer won't boot into Linux AVG Rescue because it says there's no "Configuration File". If I can find out what to do about the lack of a "Configuration File" I might be able to finally run AVG Rescue on my Vista computer! What is the "Configuration File" and how do I get it on the flashdrive?
No, running WIN Vista on computer. Only run Linux using the AVG Rescue program. Trying to run AVG Rescue on the Vista CPU to check for viruses!
Hello James,
We appreciate your patience. We suggest you to download the ISO and then use Rufus or similar tool to create bootable USB Flash drive from the ISO. Thank you.

Hello Jim,
Thank you so much for elaborating the issue. We are escalating this issue to the concerned department and we will get back with the resolution. Thank you.
Those are the things I've already done! I downloaded the Zip file and installed it on a flashdrive. I got the computer to boot from the USB flashdrive. Linux started to boot then gave me the message "Warning: no configuration file" Why isn't there a configuration file? How do I get one on the flashdrive in the boot program? Is there something wrong with the way the program installed on the flashdrive? What do I have to do to make the program work?
