AVG restart crashing my laptop

Alice,
Thank you for waiting.
There is a possibility that AVG may have an issue that needs to be addressed. However, for us to make that further determination, it is necessary that Windows 10 be updated.
Please contact Microsoft and update your Windows 10. Then try with removing traces of AVG using AVG clear and remover tool to reinstall AVG.
Hi, I updated windows to the latest version. It has prevented the computer from crashing after restarting but the hacker attack still doesn’t come on even though it says it will come on automatically after restart.
Hi! Thanks for your response! I have windows 10 but it keeps coming up with an error when I try to update windows so I can’t get the latest update. I used the Avg remover etc and then re-installed Avg but it crashed again! Having to restore it again.
Hello Alice,

This isn't the expected behavior and we apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced.
May I ask whether you have Windows up to date?
We request you to clear the traces of AVG by running remover and clear tool as mentioned in this article.
Install AVG Internet security as mentioned in this article and check the status.
I have been using Avast on my laptop (windows) but have just installed AVG since it offered me more protection for the 60 day trial. After installing AVG, it requires a restart to activate hacker protection. However, the laptop just continues to restart for ages until it finally comes up with a blue screen asking me to troubleshoot, shut down, restart again etc. I have had to restore the laptop back to before AVG was installed in order to get the laptop working again. I have repeated it a few times and it keeps doing the same thing. I even tried restarting before installing the upgraded protection, but the same thing happens again. Please can you advise what to do?
