Thirdly, how often does the AVG Internet Security program pop-up on the screen? Does it occur only after a boot-up/restart?

I clicked on that link 'article' but I can't find 'Apps and Features' in my Start programme. I looked among the Windows things such as Tools and I think Accessories,but I couldn't find it. I put it into the Search and it brought up the panel with it on. I selected AVG Security from it and it had an Uninstall on it, but the panel looked different to the one the article showed. Didn't know if I dare click on it. I remembered that I'd seen a 'repair' in the menu somewhere on the AVG interface, snd it's in the Trouble shooting. I clicked on Repair on there but it didn't have an Uninstall. Don't know if it's done it right yet, but it brought the interface panel up to tell me my AVG Security is running our in 8 days, which they usually tell me in an email. This had a Renew Now, but I'd rather wait for the email.
Some of my things from AVG don't seem to be activated when I've looked in My Account even though it tells me I'm 'fully protected.' If there's a licence number in your email, then you have to click it and go round the procedure to activate it. I did that with one of the products but think it might be the Tune-up. It didn't show it as being active when I checked back. The interface has just come up again telling me about the renewal. I think I might have to go round the Uninstall thing if I can find it. Is it OK to do it from the panel that came up in the Search?
