AVG Scanning Core Module - Server Part high cpu opening Downloads folder

Hi Balasubramanian,

Thanks for the swift response. I uninstalled AVG, removed the folder from the C drive and re-installed as per your instructions and I'm afraid it has made no difference.

Is there something else we can try?

Thanks,

Mick

Hi Kishore,
Thanks for the link.
After rebooting last night and running a full scan today the downloads folder now opens pretty much instantly again, so it looks like the problem has gone away - for the time being at least.
I don't have scheduled scans on so it's been a couple or three weeks since the last one - could that have anything to do with the problem?
Thanks for all your help.

Every time I open the Downloads folder in the Windows File Explorer the scanning core module fires up and hogs between 20 and 30 percent of cpu, and the folder takes over 30 seconds to open, which is extremely annoying:
It's been doing this for a few weeks now. Is there any way I can either fix this or turn that scanner off? Even excluding the Downloads folder from any scanning would be useful at this stage.
I'm on Windows 10 with an Intel Core I7 and 8Gb Ram
AVG Internet Security Version 16.71.7598
AVG Framework Version 1.82.2.14608
Any help gratefully received!
