AVG scheduled unnamed scan- does this pose a threat?

My AVG is set up to run an unnamed scan weekly.  Is it possible that this deep scan could inadvertantly delete a system file?

We'd like to assure you that none of the AVG scans will inadvertently delete any system files from your computer.
After a scan, AVG Internet Security will prompt you to either delete or quarantine any detected threats.
