Installed AVG Secure browser by accident when installing Filezilla

AVG Secure browser would not uninstall using windows Programs and Features

AVG Secure browser would not uninstall unsing AVGH's own avg_secure_browser_uninstall.exe application

Followed the instructions here, and managed to remove the files: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=9060N000000gDgIQAU

HOWEVER:

Now I can no longer search in windows. I can't use the search function in my browser window, or the windows search in the task bar. 

This is a massive inconvenience at a time when I can't afford to mess around trying to fix my computer. I have work to do, and I am struggling without a search function. 

Please help.
