Hello Mike,
Let's have a look at it together. Have you received any error while trying to access that site?
Please share the screenshot http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot of that error message to check and assist you further.

I installed AVG Internet Security and got the AVG Secure Browser.  It won't let me access a site I need and I cannot see how to tell it to unblock that particular site.  Any ideas?

It loads correctly in Google Chrome.

We'll certainly help you with it. Could you confirm if the website loads fine on other web browsers?

Unfortunately, we do not have Exception list in AVG Secure Browser. 
Please open AVG Secure Browser -> Menu icon -> Security & Privacy center -> turn off HTTPS Encryption and check its status.
