Did you check for any othr security softwar installed on your computer. Please use the removal tool mentioned in Support website (http://www.smartassistance247.com/2016/07/Support-for-AVG.html" target="_blank) and reinstall the AVG software. I have been trying to load the AVG Secure Search in Google to no avail, for three days now. I have warm booted the system each day thinking that there is an update, but that has not corrected the issue. It sets up as if it is going to load, gives the 85% load value with noting "Enable Extension". It gives me the box to select the enabling the extension and then sits. Went into the App store of Google to access the AVG Secure Search and it comes up with "Could not move extension directory into profile".
I have AVG Zen Pro…the routine has always been for me to add in the extension each time I access google, unless I leave google up and running.
