Regarding the VPN 'You're offline' issue and the location in the Maps.
Since you have already performed the basic troubleshooting we'd suggest you to take advantage of our free remote assistance to investigate further on this, by following the steps in the email that has been sent to you.

I appreciate you comment stating "we'd suggest you to take advantage of our free remote assistance to investigate further on this", however, upon reviewing this Forum, it is clear that I am not the only Customer that has experienced this very same problem.

Please advise me and this Forum just what had been determined from AVG's previous investigations into this issue.

We understand your concern, Ted. However, we'd like to clarify that the issues reported regarding AVG Secure VPN are unique & it requires the troubleshooting accordingly.
Regarding the message you're offline, as you've performed all the possible troubleshooting such as switching different servers, reinstalling, switching networks, etc, our colleague has suggested you to take advantage of our remote assistance to proceed further.
Please follow the steps in the email that has been sent to you earlier.
