AVG Secure VPN mobile for Android not fully working?

Hello,

I'm having trouble with the mobile version of AVG Secure VPN on Android phones.

Any phone app or program that asks for my location or uses GPS like Google Maps, Snapchat, and Instagram will actually show my real location instead of the VPN server location, even when properly connected through the mobile app. 

For example, I live in the United States. I will open AVG on my phone and connect to server based out of Brazil. Then I open up Google Maps and it clearly shows that I'm still in the United States. Local and personalized advertising for my area is also shown which indicated that the VPN isn't on working on a several levels here. 

 

The app appears to work fine when using Google Chrome or Firefox for internet browsing, but is there a way to make AVG Secure VPN work on GPS apps... or even just Snapchat and Instagram?
