I understand your concern on this AVG Secure VPN program. You can certainly get refund for this purchase. However, we suggest you to disable AVG Secure VPN and check if you are able to send and receive emails. If you are able to receive, then change the location in AVG Secure VPN and check if everything works fine.

I just came across this post - have the same issue (for a long time) , emails are not received in MS Outlook when I have AVG VPN set on. Up to now I have turned off the VPN, and my emails then come through.
As suggested above I did change the location (from Melbourne to Perth) as these are the only options. I am based near Brisbane. However that did not fix it. The error message says "cannot connect to server".
Is there any other work around, besides switching of the VPN every time I access my email.
