Hi Frans,
We're glad to clarify this for you.
You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
However, you can try connecting to different servers (locations) that are available in Secure VPN to identify the server that provides better connectivity.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
This is the standard copy-and-paste answer from the AVG knowledgebase. I am having the same issue and it reducing my superfast broadband speed by 90%.
When AVG Secure VPN is turned on, the response time of the internet gets very slow.
When turning it of, the speed goes back to normal.
Is there something I have to change in the settings to avoid this?
Thanks,
Frans
Hello Banjo,
We're sorry that you feel this way.
As we informed in the previous post, that's the usual behavior of all VPN programs.
