Every time I enter a new search topic on google, the search results appear for a second and then an AVG pop up "secured threat" message appears not allowing any search results. However, when I click on my bookmarks this does not happen. please help. thanks.
This issue seems to happen only in my google chrome. It doesn't happen in Firefox. As far as the latest version of AVG, I just purchased my AVG a month ago. So, I should have the latest version, right? How do I find the version that I have, and if I need too how do I update?

Patrick, You can check or update your version of AVG Internet Security by following steps,
* Open AVG AntiVirus free->Menu->Settings->Update
* From here you can see version of your AVG Internet Security and select the automatic update so your AVG Internet Security will be automatically updated.

Are you not able to use/open the specific website or the entire search in the google?
As you mentioned this issue is happening only in google chrome, I request you to reset the chrome browser by following steps and check if it helps.
On your computer, open Chrome.
1) At the top right, click More -> Settings.
2) At the bottom, click Advanced.
3) Click Restore settings to their original defaults Reset Settings.
4)Windows: Under 'Reset and cleanup', click Reset Settings -> Reset Settings.
Note: Resetting the chrome browser will delete your chrome extension and reset your chrome settings.
