AVG Security 2015 & Winzip 19,5

Hi Martin / AVG support

I have the same problem, and thank you for your tip. However, can you explain to me how / where do I "Open Editor", where do I save the file to, and how do I execute the file. Sorry, I'm a bit of a techno-phobe.

Many thanks

John

Hi Kishore,
hi Alan,

nothing worked at all. I tried all combination. Deactivate AVG, deinstalled WinZIP, restart, installed Winzip, always the same behavior. I will ask as well now the WinZip support. I am using a German Windows 7 system and all programs are installed inGerman. Can this be an issue?

Thanks for your help so far.
Martin

Hello Martin, I am sorry to hear that. Have you received any blocking popups from the AVG program? Thank you.

I have same issue,
I have TuneUp installed on my laptop,
and recently, if TuneUP ran auto-maintenance, winzip no more working,
if i install winzip again, it works for a time, till again auto maintenance ran from tuneUP, or i run it manually,

if I do "undo changes" from tuneUp, winzip works fine again

Am trying to open a ticket with support team, but am not a fan of chat or phone,
and newly, no option to open tickets, through website form, or by sending email (this is very bad)

hi, I'm facing similar issue with no resolutuion
I've even totally un-installed AVG, re-installed WinZip, saved & executed the .bat file as instructed but winzip isn't working
is there some way to cleanup AVG entries, if they still exist & are cusing the problem?

hi Ratheesh
perhaps i missed mentioning that my issue presently is with AVG PC TuneUp; any solution for this?
Also, a suggestion, when an answer is posted here a mail to the registered id would be a big help.

regards

Martin, Does it work if you disable AVG?.. Have a look @ this article (http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG) . If so try to find the culprit by disabling individual components. Have a look @ this article (http://avgclick.me/DisableComponents).

Hello John, on the notepad file please press F2 key and it will ask to rename the file. Rename as WinZip.bat and hit enter it will prompt you whether you want to make the changes please allow it and click ok and check whether is saved as .bat file. Please do let us know. Thank you.

Hello Amit.
I appreciate your efforts in trying to fix this. Please install AVG back again from the following link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download .
Once after installing AVG please follow these instructions on to add WinZip to AVG exception list: http://avgread.me/18WB2dg .
This should resolve your issue. Thank you

Hello John. Open Editor is nothing but the "NOTEPAD". Please open the notepad and type only the below two lines:

reg DELETE "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nico Mak
Computing\WinZip\mru" /f

Save the notepad file as WinZip.bat and then execute the file.

Credit should go to Martin Polzer.

Hello Martin. I understand how something like this can really try your patience. After disabling AVG and still if you face the same issue, then I request you to contact WinZip support for help. This is not an issue with AVG. Thank you for your understanding.
